The Area

    Why Cove Springs?

    For the visual beauty…

Douglas Lake, a 30,000 acre TVA tributary lake fed by the French Broad,  Nolichucky and Pigeon Rivers.  Douglas has over 550 miles of shore line and is approximately forty miles long.  The towns of Dandridge, Sevierville and White Pine all border the lake.   Marinas and restaurants dot the shoreline.

The Great Smoky Mountains, and in particular 6,595’ Mt. LeConte and 3,629’ English Mountain.  The Smoky’s contain over 521,000 acres and is the most visited national park.

Dandridge, the second oldest town in Tennessee, dating from 1783. Quaint buildings, many constructed of handmade brick, face the streets of this lakeside village of 2,700 residents.

Cove Springs, itself is a place of great physical beauty. The land is rolling with quiet valleys, high meadows, shoreline, mountain views, springs, undisturbed groves of hardwoods. Cove Springs was planned differently from most developments today. There was an effort to preserve the natural private cove setting of the land and a mandate to cut trees only when necessary for the building of our roadways. To walk or drive through Cove Springs is like traveling through a park preserve.

Wild Life, on land there is no lack of deer, wild turkeys and over 200 species of birds. Douglas Lake is home to premier bass tournaments and is filled with largemouth, smallmouth, black bass, walleye, sauger, crappie, bluegill and trout.

Evening Sunsets. Cove Springs is located above the northeastern shore of Douglas Lake and most evenings there is a spectacular sunset. These displays are the most photographed feature of the area.
